Getting Started induction training for Executive Committee members, administrators and supporters, involves completing five mandatory online modules:
- Module 1 Essential Information
- Safety
- Safeguarding
- GDPR
- Trustee Introduction
These modules are all online. At the end of each module please print the certificate, or save it, to show to your Induction Mentor or Group Scout Leader (GSL) as evidence of completion.
Module 1: Essential Information
This module covers the fundamentals of Scouting. Please save or print a copy of the completion certificate.

Safety
It’s important that Safety training is completed within the first five months of your role start date (as recorded on Compass) and then kept up to date. It is required to be renewed every three years. Please save or print a copy of the completion certificate.

Safeguarding

GDPR
This training covers the basic information that individuals need to know in relation to GDPR, what this means for their role and for Scouting, and how to effectively align with it. Please save or print a copy of the completion certificate.
Trustee Introduction
It provides information on your role in managing a charity with information on your legal responsibilities and current regulations.

Once you have completed the Getting Started modules your full appointment will be confirmed. Initially your appointment will be in place for one year. When your first year is complete, you will have the opportunity to confirm with your volunteer manager that you are happy to continue, that you feel supported, and are able to access and progress with the training.
