Latest training weekend
The latest training session for the Jamboree Unit was another busy and exciting weekend camp packed with teamwork, new skills, challenges and plenty of fun!
The first activities were all about learning practical skills. Unit members had the chance to practice hand washing clothesusing a couple of different methods, discovering just how much effort can go into getting clothes clean without a washing machine! We also enjoyed disc golf on the programme, with patrols rotating around the different activities.
After a busy morning, it was time for lunch and some well-earned downtime. In the afternoon, one patrol took on the important job of preparing dinner for everyone, giving them the opportunity to work together and put their cooking skills into practice.
The day finished with a selection of games. One of the biggest hits was Guess the Celebrity or Character, which brought plenty of laughs, some very questionable guesses and lots of competitive spirit!
The final activities on Sunday explored Polish culture, we had a go at building gateways, and tried our hand at a traditional Polish craft — making Polish dolls. The dolls were particularly interesting and gave everyone the chance to learn something completely different while getting creative.
A fantastic weekend filled with teamwork, practical skills, creativity, culture and plenty of fun. A huge well done to all of our Unit members for getting involved, supporting one another and making the most of the weekend!
