Scouts and Girlguiding mark 100 days until WINGS 2026 International Jamboree

Scouts and Guides from across the globe are gearing up for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure as the WINGS 2026 International Jamboree marks 100 days until its gates open at Windsor Great Park.

Berkshire Scouts and Girlguiding Royal Berkshire will host a week of adventure, challenge and community-themed activities from Saturday 25 July to Saturday 1 August 2026. Nearly 4,000 participants are already registered, making WINGS 2026 one of the most anticipated volunteer-led events this year, and the first WINGS jamboree since 2014.

Young people aged 10–18 will enjoy an action-packed programme with kayaking, survival crafts, circus skills, climbing, and engineering among the many activities on offer. Each evening, the main stage will come alive with entertainment headliners including UK band Toploader, whose hits include Dancing in the Moonlight and Achilles Heel.

The event will also play host to younger members of Scouts and Guides with a specially designed mini-Jamboree, ‘Mini WINGS’, which gives the chance for Rainbows, Squirrels, Beavers, Brownies and Cubs aged 4-10 to experience the celebration and excitement of the event.

WINGS 2026 is themed ‘The Kingdom of WINGS’: a unique nod to Windsor’s heritage and story that breaks the campsite into 10 guilds. Whether the young people are deep in the backwoods of The Survivalist Guild, becoming water warriors in The Voyager’s Guild, or getting creative in The Bard’s Guild, WINGS promises to be an amazing opportunity to develop courage, growth and lifetime wisdom for all those attending.

WINGS committee member Stuart Ford, who is also District Lead Volunteer for Windsor and Eton Scouts, said: “We already have participants from across the globe committed to attending this very special camp. International gatherings such as WINGS 2026 provide those attending with a unique experience, forming friendships that last lifetimes and creating a legacy of understanding and unity. They are also great fun and filled with energy, excitement and laughter. I know from personal experience that it’s not only the Scouts and Guides that benefit, volunteers finish the week tired but inspired.”

WINGS is also welcoming a new generation of young volunteers through the Young International Support Team (YIST), giving 14-to-17-year-olds the chance to experience a jamboree from behind the scenes.

Team Lead Katherine Endacott, attending her fourth jamboree, said: “The feeling of being part of a jamboree is electric, and I cannot wait to see what adventures are in store for WINGS 2026!”

YIST member Connie, 16, from Northern Ireland, added: “I can’t wait to be part of WINGS and work alongside my team members and volunteers. I hope we are able to create a fantastic WINGS for everyone to be part of and make some great memories.”

Six Explorer Scouts from West Berkshire recently turned Windsor Great Park into their own catwalk, taking part in a fashion shoot to showcase the official WINGS merchandise range.

Explorer Jessie from Purley-on-Thames said: “It was a great experience not only to see the range of WINGS merchandise before it went on sale, but also to have the chance to be part of a fashion shoot in Windsor. I am excited for WINGS this summer, it promises to be an unforgettable experience.”

To deliver an unforgettable week, organisers are welcoming volunteers into a wide range of roles. Opportunities are available both ahead of the event, with several support roles that can be undertaken from home, and on site throughout the week, covering catering, facilities, transport, and an extensive range of physical and creative activities. Involvement can range from a single half-day session to the full week.
