1 Scouting's 102nd Year of Adventure, Challenge and Friendship Begins Cold Ash Beaver Scouts spent an evening
finding out about healthy eating. Alicia Beauchamp,
Sainsbury's healthy eating coordinator came to talk to the
Beaver Scouts and make the fruit kebabs. The photo shows the
Beavers making fruit kebabs as part of their
Healthy Eating
Badge. The photo below shows Alicia with Cold Ash Beaver
Colony. Photo from Sharon Thompson Kennet District Beaver mascot "Bobby" has been trekking through
the Himalayas and has seen Everest and many other giant mountains
covered in snow and ice. Despite the lack of trees and rivers
Bobby enjoyed his trip and commented that Beaver fur beats any of
the current hi tech equipment available for extreme conditions.
Bobby had Assistant Beaver Leader Tony Higgs from the 3rd
Newbury Scouts Beaver Colony stuck to his back during the whole
trekking trip who says he is sticking with the modern gear !
The photograph show Jayden, a Beaver
Scout from 2nd Thatcham Beaver Scout Colony, who has just received the
annual award for outstanding contribution to Beaver Scouts. This award
was presented at the annual St. Georges Day Event in Thatcham.
This was attended by all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, and
Fellowship, from the Taceham
Hundred District. 40
Beaver Scouts from Slough District took part in a reduce, reuse and
recycle Day. Beaver Scouts started the day by making name badges
followed by a short talk on reduce, reuse and recycle. They made
models out of recycled materials they had collected. After lunch they
played games based on the day's them and finished off the afternoon by
doing word searches and codes on recycling. All Beaver Scouts went
home with a certificate and a greater understanding of the recycling
process and how it benefits us today. 5 Beaver Scouts from 2nd Thatcham
Scout Group were presented with their their Chief Scouts Bronze
