Cub Scouts Navigate Youlbury

On a winters weekend in February a group of Cub Scouts from 2nd Bracknell took on the challenge of navigating around Youlbury. Despite snow in Bracknell on the Friday morning their base at Youlbury, one of the camp-site buildings, was warm and snug. The almost empty site was ideal for learning about navigation as there was lots of room for trails and treasure hunts. This weekend expedition was based on the Navigator Badge but there was time for other activities. Although the open fire was not available but the Cub Scouts still had a camp fire indoors and then there was the funky chicken song and much more. The Adult Volunteers has their own challenges, it was Shere Khan’s first time at doing a Cubs Own and Raksha’s first time doing the cooking. To see more on the fabuluous weekend including the funky chicken song and Raksha’s shepherds pie visit the 2nd Bracknells site and click on past events.
