Spain 2006

Spain 2006 is  a two week adventurous activities expedition for Explorer Scouts and Scout Network and their Adult Leaders to the spectacular mountainous area in Sort in the Spanish Pyrenees  at the end of August.

Participants will be able to choose activities which include mountaineering, rock climbing, canoeing. Other possibilities may include mountain biking, caving and expeditions for DofE and other awards. There will be a pre-event training programme to enable participants to build up their skills before the event.

The provisional dates for the expedition are 20 August through to 3 September 2006.

Location

The mountains stretching across the French / Spanish border near Sort, their foothills and rivers provide a wide range of terrain. We will be in an area which will provide access to both:

• Terrain which is sufficiently wild, mountainous and varied to enable us to provide water and mountain activities at a range of levels to suit all capabilities and development needs;
• Country suitable for groups of young people to be on their own for a few days without direct supervision for Explorer Belt and DofE Expeditions.
