Berkshire Scouts supports the provision of Scouting in more than a hundred locations across Berkshire providing fun, friendship and adventure for more than 6000 young people aged 6 to 25 with over 2000 Adult Volunteers.
'Volunteering is a means of enabling people to engage in society and create positive change for themselves and others.’
The Government recently described volunteering as ‘the essential act of citizenship and a powerful means of social inclusion.’ Spending time working with and caring for young people is a means of making that vision a reality.

Specific opportunities are listed here.
There are many and varied opportunities for adults in Scouting. No particular experience or skills are required. Some adults give a couple of hours a month while others offer a evening or more a week. Most work with young people but there are roles for those who prefer to support the adult leaders. Adults are supported by a widely admired adult support programme. The Adult Training Programme can lead to nationally recognised qualifications through the Open College Network.
