Cubs returning to their Bracknell pack meetings this week found something missing their Akela. After 9 years as Cub Scout Leader at the 2nd Bracknell pack Nick Layt has now left the group as he is moving away from the area. His last duty as Akela was their successful Summer Camp in Sussex, coincidentally not too far from where he is going to be living. Group Scout Leader, Steve Prower said Id like to say a special thank you to Nick for all his work for the group over the years and for kindly agreeing to keep the web site going for us; you really are a special person Nick and we will all miss you. Group Chairman, Dale Kipp said Nick has been a valuable member and leader of the section for many a year. Thank you Nick for all the work you have done during your time with us and I wish you all the best. I am sure we will all miss you.
The Berkshire Patrol Camping Challenge will take place over the weekend 30th September 2006 to 1st October 2006. The County Flag is a camping challenge for patrols of six scouts held over two days. It is a lot more than just a camping competition as the weekend will also include a number of different activities. The weekend will allow the participating patrols to work together as a team putting into practice a large number of the Scouting skills that they have learned as well as picking up some new skills. more
