Berkshire Scouts is now inviting young men and women from every corner of Berkshire to apply to be a member of the Berkshire Scouts Jamboree Units. The 21st World Scout Jamboree promises to be the experience of a lifetime. Coinciding with the centenary of Scouting, the World Scout Jamboree in 2007 comes home to the United Kingdom. 40,000 people from 200 countries will be working, playing and being together as Scouts for 11 days at Hylands Park, Essex. The Jamboree Units will also take part in a pre-Jamboree experience in Europe and will have their own training and build-up programme leading to the Jamboree itself.
If you will be 14, 15, 16 or 17 on 28 July 2007 then you are invited to apply. Application forms will shortly be available from District Commissioners or they can be downloaded from the website. The closing date for applications is 10 March 2006 with a selection weekend confirmed at Bear's Rails over 25/26 March 2006.

We are planning a series of workshops in 2006 to cover various areas that the modular training scheme does not include. The fist two of these, to be held in January are as follows:
Have you ever wanted to use PowerPoint and a data projector to liven up your AGM or Leader Meeting? Have you ever tried to use a data projector and found problems connecting everything together? Have you ever used a data projector and laptop and found that nothing works, or that the display is wrong, or that the sound does not work?
If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then why not join us for a workshop on audio visual equipment. The date for this evening is Tuesday, 17th January 2006, starting at 8 and finishing by 10 pm. The evening will be run by Robin Phillips and further details can be gained by contacting him directly (LTMaudiovisual@berkshirescouts.org.uk). Alternatively, you can book directly on-line - follow the link below

It is perhaps a dark dismal winter's day. You need a glimpse of the old magic - yes that fabulous adventure of Scouting. Click here to see some of that magic and yes you will need the sound turned up for best effect. The movie is in QuickTime format. You may find it helpful to right click on the link and save it to your PC first before playing it.
It is also available here in wmv format file and it will play in Windows Movie Player or Real Player including full screen format. If your connection is taking some it is also available in a reduced format but the picture quality is rather reduced. Click here for help with movies

This will allow you to benefit from free or reduced-cost medical care when travelling in an EEA country or Switzerland. This replaces the E111 and is one card for one person. You need to be 16 or over to apply, younger members need their parent to apply. You can apply on-line for the card (you just need National Insurance Number and date of birth). more
