Hurry up! Berkshire Scouts is inviting applications from Scouts and Explorer Scouts to join the Berkshire Jamboree Units. All applications must be received by 10 March 2006.
This is your once in a lifetime opportunity to join a Unit that will learn, grow and work together over the next 2 years, ultimately attending the 21st World Scout Jamboree in the Summer of 2007.
Participants for the Berkshire Jamboree Units must be aged between 14 and 17 years old on 27 July 2007 - that is those born between 28 July 1989 and 27 July 1993 and involved in Berkshire Scouting. You can now apply to join the Berkshire Contingent. It's likely to be you if you are currently at school in years 8, 9, 10 or 11.
Places are limited and a selection weekend has been arranged to take place over 25/26 March 2006 at Bear's Rails in Old Windsor. more
If you are a Scout or Explorer Leader and need more information for young people in your Troop or Unit or would like a local presentation from the Jamboree Team then contact Bruce Clark via bruce@berkshirescoutsjamboree.org.uk
This great weekend event for Scouts is back this year. The event involves teams of two - book the weekend of 20 and 21 May now. Full details coming soon. more
This special SNet activity is open to all 17 (ie: older Explorer Scouts) to 25 year old members of The Scout Association. For example, Leaders, Instructors, Helpers, etc. We would very much like the opportunity to share the potential of the SNet with everyone eligible for membership.
Needless to say, the day is also open to non-members of TSA.
There's no commitment to registering for the SNet on the activity day! We simply want to have folk join us in Kent to have a good time; learn about the SNet; and possibly help shape its future. more
The previous flyer had a small but vital typo in the email contact - request an information sheet and/or make a booking via Susan Clarkson at international@berkshirescouts.org.uk

It is part of the website policy of Berkshire Scouts and the Scout Association that the private email addresses of Adult Volunteers are not displayed on the website. Instead we use email addresses of the form excitingtrip@berkshirescouts.org.uk which are then redirected to the private email account of that particular person. This ensures that emails are processed through a Spam Filter and that in the event of any problems, this Scout specific email address can be changed. If you need such an email address or are planning an event where emails will be provided in the publicity material please contact the Web Team on webmaster@berkshirescouts.org.uk.
The Rally is a weekend camp for Explorer Scouts and Scout Network Units, 20-22 October 2006 at Tolmers. Included in the weekend are activities, team competitions, the Disco and of course the Race. In the race you can use up to six people to carry one person in the chair. The chairs take the form of a themed fancy dress and will be judged on several topics. The team has free choice of theme, but remember that points are awarded for the theme and how well the theme is implemented. Check this out it sounds a great weekend. more
The latest version of Policy, Organisation and Rules has now been placed on ScoutBase UK. The main changes in rules are in Chapters 3 - ratios of adults to young people in the Beaver Colony, Cub Pack and Scout Troop; plus changes of wording due to the move from Activities Authorisations to Permits. more

Charity Choice is a website that links registered charities to lots of new FREE goods and services on offer donated by members of the public. The website is updated every Tuesday with new items to choose from such as furniture, cookers, computers in fact anything that people decide are surplus to their requirements. We also have many volunteers on the site who offer their professional skills to UK registered charities. This can range from marketing skills like copywriting or web design through to general fundraising ideas or events. It also provides a directory of UK charities.
