The Berkshire Patrol Camping Challenge will take place over the weekend 30th September 2006 to 1st October 2006. The County Flag is a camping challenge for patrols of six scouts held over two days. It is a lot more than just a camping competition as the weekend will also include a number of different activities. The weekend will allow the participating patrols to work together as a team putting into practice a large number of the Scouting skills that they have learned as well as picking up some new skills. more

As all are aware from the present advertising campaign in the national and local media, changes to fire safety legislation are due to come into force in October this year. The aim of the reform is to simplify, rationalise and consolidate existing legislation. It will provide for a risk based approach to fire safety. The main effect of the changes will be a move towards greater emphasis on fire prevention in all non-domestic premises. Fire Certificates will be abolished and will cease to have legal status. more

UK Jamboree Contingent Bulletin (UK Contingent Countdown 4)
The next HQ Open Day is on September 18th. The day is free (apart from travel, of course) and is open to all District Commissioners, District Chairmen, County Chairman, County Team Members and Group Scout Leaders. All who have attended pervious Open Days have commented on how useful it was. more
