Spain 2006 is a two week adventurous activities expedition for Explorer Scouts and Scout Network and their Adult Leaders to the spectacular mountainous area in Northern Spain at the end of August in 2006. more
Lorraine Bolam has been appointed as ACC (Beaver Scouts), with effect from 1st November. Lorraine needs little or no introduction to you as she has held the role of ACC (BS) previously, and I am sure that you will join with me in welcoming her back into the role. more
The countdown to the 21st World Jamboree in 2007 has begun. There are three information evenings for Adult Volunteers who are interested in being part of the Berkshire Jamboree Leadership team? Any adult actively involved in Scouting anywhere in Berkshire is eligible to apply. You may be involved with Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Scout Network or an Adult Support role - all are most welcome to get involved. If you are interested go for it. The County Cooking Competition will be held on Saturday 19th November at Woosehill Scouts HQ Wokingham from 1.30 till 4.30pm. more
Last Friday saw 23 young people presented with their Chief Scouts Silver Awards at the Wesley Methodist Church in Reading. Congratulations to each and every one. more
It is a big thank you to Rita Curran who has been appointed as County Cub Scout Leader for the West of Berkshire. Rita continues with her ADC role in Pang Valley. The appointment of Kerry Linton was announced in last week's news. more
Cub Scouts from 4th Langley and 3rd Upton Packs recently enjoyed an excellent activity day at Longridge Scout Boating Centre. more
The County Management Team (DCs, ACCs, LTMs, County Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary, DCCs and CC) met this weekend to discuss the development of Scouting across Berkshire. They focused their time on projects centred on reducing waiting lists, Explorer Scouts/Scout Network, public perception and 2007. These are key long terms projects which will involve all adult volunteers across Berkshire - watch this space. more
