Mayor congratulates Slough Scouts

At the Slough District AGM on 18 May, the Slough Mayor, Councillor Mrs Julia Long, said "For an organisation to succeed for this length of time is testament to its strength  and ability to re-invent itself to keep abreast with the times and I congratulate you on this achievement". more

Another Great Year for Maidenhead

John Grantham of Scout Insurance Services Ltd was the guest speaker at the Maidenhead District AGM on 19 May 2005.  He said that the positive approach of the Scout Association to Child Protection issues was the envy of many youth-based organisations across the UK.  The County Commissioner, Hamish Stout congratulated all the volunteers on providing "even better Scouting for even more young people in Maidenhead" with a 35% increase in female youth members. more

Michael Nightingale, Berkshire County Scout Chairman has presented Jane Bingham, the retiring Girlguiding County Commissioner, with a ‘Thanks Badge’.  more

Entries for Photo of the Week

The popular Photo of the Week series is continuing to attract entries every week. As the evenings lighten and the sunshine arrives and you get outdoors more, it would be great to see photos of young people drawn from all sections in action out there.

County AGM

Berkshire Scouts County AGM will be held on 7 July 2005 at the Long Gallery, Englefield House, Englefield, Nr Theale RG7 5EN. The meeting is 7.30pm for 8.00pm.  Location details are available at the Englefield House website
