The Three Towers Hike™ is a down-land footpath competition hike organised by Reading Central District Scouts. It normally takes place over the third weekend of March each year although in 2005 it will be uniquely held in April. The event is sponsored by Cotswold Outdoor. THis is a must-do event - well at least once. The Three Towers Hike operates a series of concurrent events catering for different age groups. These are the 'Junior', 'Explorer' and 'Senior' events.
The closing date for all applications is extended to 8th April 2005. Please ensure you have adequate postage on your SAE. Your booklets and tallies weigh in at 110g and first class postal rates go up 1st April. Click here for the Three Towers Hike Website
Teams from both Wargrave and Pinkneys Green Scouts represented the County at the Regional Cooking Competition. The Wargrave Scouts were only seven points (in 160!) behind the winning team from Cheltenham. more

The Berkshire Scouts News Service is one of the recent developments arising from the Plan for the County which seeks to support Even Better Scouting for even more Young People in Berkshire. At a recent meeting (8th March), the Executive Committee of Berkshire Scout Council approved a plan to add all known adults concerned with Scouting in Berkshire to the mailing list for the News Service. This will ensure that all adults receive up to date news on the support, resources, training and activities available to them in their Scouting Activities. more
