Congratulations to all the Leaders selected and thank you all for taking on this exciting but demanding role.
This group of Leaders will now be working together to promote the Jamboree to the young people, with the selection of the young people taking place in early Spring. Mick Stocks (Deputy County Commissioner) is leading a project team with a brief of supporting and developing the 14-25 youth programme. Essentially, this is growing (in different ways) the Explorer Scout and Scout Network sections. The project group consists of Kevin Birchmore, Sue Clarkson, Bob Meldrum, and Jamie Macdonald (until the end of the year). Please contact Mick with your own views on how these important sections can be further developed. Much of their recent work has been concentrated on the Scout Network mainly due to the forthcoming changes of leadership. The December Scout Network Newsletter contains more information. more

The 21st World Scout Jamboree offers a number of opportunities to get involved and one is to help support the UK Contingent. We hope the UK Contingent will be made up of around 4,500 Unit members and Leaders and another 2,000+ International Service Team members! To support this massive Contingent, we need to recruit a number of highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to the Contingent Support Team.
Members of the CST will be expected to attend a number of training weekends and take an active part in Unit Leader weekends and other major events. They will also support local Jamboree Units during their preparation and training events.
Being a member of the CST is a demanding but rewarding role, and you can find out more by looking at the information sheet, role description, person specification and application form on our webpage www.ukcontingent.org.uk.
The closing date for applications is 31 December, 2005.
