New District Commissioner for Reading Central

We are delighted to be able to announce that Ian Kirkham has agreed to take on the role of District Commissioner for Reading Central District from 1st May. more

186 on the Three Towers Hike

A total of 186 hikers plus 2 sweepers joined the hike this year and due to excellent walking conditions and extended daylight compared to previous years, the hike saw a very low retirement rate and some very fast times. more

Promise Re Affirmation

This weekend sees many activities across Berkshire involving young people re affirming their Promise.  Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts and Explorer Scouts in Kennet are boarding a steam train bound for Bristol with a visit to the Bristol Science and Technology Centre while the young people in Wokingham District have an activity day in Dinton Pastures. South Berkshire held their activity last week at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst  to enable their Queen Scout Award Party to attend the Windsor Ceremony.  Pictures and reports next week.

News List to Expand

The Berkshire Scouts News Service is one of the recent developments arising from the Plan for the County which seeks to support Even Better Scouting for even more Young People in Berkshire. At a recent meeting (8th March), the Executive Committee of Berkshire Scout Council approved a plan to add all known adults concerned with Scouting in Berkshire to the mailing list for the News Service.  more
