The Mount Challenge - Cooking
The
Mount Challenge is a based lightweight camping and you should bring a
single burner gas stove or stove like a Trangia which burns meths. You
will need to make sure you have enough fuel to last the weekend, bear in
mind the cooking may not goes as smoothly as you might hope. Since there
will only be two of you, the cooking pots can be small. The Challenge Menu
is designed to cooked on a single burner stove so it will be possible.
However, it might be a good idea to try out cooking in this way, the order
of cooking the different items will be important as well as keeping it all
warm. The sort of pots which come with a Trangia or a Gilwell canteen are
ideal. If these are not to hand a small pot, a small frying pan and a
second pot or a small kettle for boiling water will be all you need.
