Massif 20-10Regular Updates During the Trip
Check back for regular updates and photos during the expedition week:
The Massif 20-10 Experience On 14th August 2010, up to one hundred Explorer Scouts and Scout Network will set off from Berkshire, en-route to France. Once across the channel, we will make our way through France to our base camp in Millau; we will camp on a local campsite, with full facilities (showerblocks, swimming-pool, etc). Once set-up everyone will have the opportunity to take part in some first class activities and complete their Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions. The water, the rocks and the hills are only a short distance away from basecamp, not to mention the superb Gorge du Tarn. We also have an amazing Explore Programme, visiting many beautiful places in the Massif Central region. At the end of the Expedition, we will journey back to the UK for a well earned rest. The participant fee is £650, of which includes all travel, food, camp fees and activities (although some of the Explore Programme will be at an additional cost). If you are a Leader and would like to go, the leader fee is £375. If you have any questions, click here to contact the Massif 20-10 team. We have an experienced leader team, who will be travelling with us. The team managers are below. Please do not hesitate to contact any of us, if you have any questions.

The afternoon will begin with a BBQ starting at 3 pm which will be followed by briefings for both parents and particpants which will start at approximately 4pm. It is important that both parents and participants attend as there are separate briefings for each covering different aspects and they will run simultaneously. We will provide essential information about the trip including in particular the travel arrangements and the communications systems we will have for urgent messages. We will be providing more information on the programme and there will be the chance to meet the leader team and ask them any questions. We expect to finish about 5.15 pm
