Train to Gain for the Voluntary Sector
Berkshire Scout Enterprises Ltd (BSEL) presented a stand at the Better Business Better People Exhibition at the Madejski Conference Centre on Monday 3 November. more
Although the main focus is for local businesses, BSEL was promoting their Provider Service for the Third (volunteer) Sector. Already there are scores of adults from local Scouting taking advantage of the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification in NVQs such as Activity Leadership; Team Leading; and Management.
You can also contact BSEL direct for further information on how to join other Scout, Girlguiding, and Community Leaders in gaining a nationally recognised qualifications.

New Explorer Scout Unit for Bracknell
A new Explorer Scout Unit is opening in Bracknell at the end of September. Angela Cracker, Explorer Leader said “I’m absolutely thrilled to be opening a new unit in Bracknell. The activities we will be doing will give the young people fantastic opportunities to try new things, do loads of outdoor activities, go on international camps and develop lots of new personal skills. It will be an adventure for us all!” more
Congratulations to everyone in Berkshire - Numbers up again for 2008
The fabulous outcome of the Centenary Year is that there are now even more young people across Berkshire enjoying the great adventure of Scouting. The 2008 census shows that the number of young people aged 6 to 18 is up in 10 Districts with numbers more or less the same in the other District. Overall numbers are up by 3% giving a total number of young people of 6,304 together with 1443 Adult Volunteers. That is a grand total of 7747. more
