The AGM elected Ian Goldswain as District Chairman, Mr K.Clark as
Secretary and Mr RS Stiff as Treasurer. The meeting was able to view a
presentation from the Discovery Explorer Unit showing the fabulous
opportunities for young people in the Slough area. In a continuous whirl
of images we were treated to glimpses of international expeditions,
local activity camps, trips, developing skills and a whole loan of fun,
adventure and challenges. The District Commissioner, Bruce Clark
made a presentation to the 3rd Upton Scout Team who had won the County
Cooking Competition and come 2nd in the Regional Final. Bruce also
reported that there were 11 young people selected from Slough for the
Berkshire Contingent to the World Scout Jamboree along with 4 leaders.
After the formal meeting there were refreshments and an opportunity to chat and see more of the great adventure pf Scouting in Slough as the photograph shows.

The are also opportunities to help at Group level and in the District in 'management' roles. Tasks at these levels include finance; administration; fund-raising; taking care of equipment; and so on.
Adults in Scouting have fun and are well supported with training and through District and County programme teams.
