Kennet District Beaver mascot "Bobby" has been trekking through the Himalayas and has seen Everest and many other giant mountains covered in snow and ice. Despite the lack of trees and rivers Bobby enjoyed his trip and commented that Beaver fur beats any of the current hi tech equipment available for extreme conditions. Bobby had Assistant Beaver Leader Tony Higgs from the 3rd Newbury Scouts Beaver Colony stuck to his back during the whole trekking trip who says he is sticking with the modern gear !

Beaver Scouts were able to enter two items in the competition and could choose from a variety of activities which included hats, puppets, collages, junk craft, printing and design. There was also a category for colonies to enter where every member could take part. This year the task was to build a model village. The winning colony was 21st(Mon) Maidenhead who meet at Cox Green.
