Insurance Update (September 2005)

To avoid any possible misunderstanding it is confirmed by our County Insurance Adviser Douglas Rae , that the County has arranged Non Member Public Liability & Personal Accident Insurance which is currently in force.

In brief the policy provides cover for Legal Liability of non-members under the age of 18 years and their parents for Injury or Damage to Property by the attendance at, or participation in Scouting Activities. The Limit of Liability any one claim is £1m. The cover includes claims arising out of the operation of crèches.

The County has also arranged Personal Accident Insurance with limited benefits, for Non-Member children (under the age of 18 years) attending a Scouting activity with any parent who is a Leader or other adult involved in the running of a Scout activity.

The County Scout Council renews this insurance, which relates to all Scouting Activities arranged by any Scouting Group in Berkshire, annually.

Any questions or queries should be directed towards Douglas Rae who will be happy to assist.
