Activity Notification

If you are undertaking any form of activity which involves adventurous activities or is based away from your normal meeting place you must notify your District Commissioner. If your event includes nights away please use the Nights Away Notification System.

For activities which do not involve a night away you can use the Berkshire Scouts on-line all groups all districts  to carry out the notification with the minimum of effort. An on-line form provides a simple direct route to achieving this. The form will send all the necessary information about your event to the relevant people in your Group and District. You will receive an email confirming what information has been sent.

Nights Away Notification made simple

The Berkshire Scouts web site provides an all Districts on-line notification process which takes all the effort out of the Nights Away Notification procedure. A link to the online form is available on the home page of the Berkshire Scouts Website www.berkshirescouts.org.uk, look on the right hand menu. more

Parascending

Sky Lincs is a parascending team specializing in working with young people to develop confidence and teamwork. The Club has been operating for almost 30 years and has a good safety record. As with all adventurous sports there is an element of risk. Our instructors are qualified and licensed by the British Hang gliding & Paragliding Association (BHPA). We operate in accordance with recognised procedures and regulations to ensure that safety standards are maintained, and we expect participants to exercise good discipline. Our instructors and operators are all voluntary and give up their weekends to fly Scouts, Guides and other youth groups as well as to fly themselves. Sky Lincs is a part of the Scout Association. Outward Bound Courses

The Outward Bound Trust Winter Mountain Craft courses pass on skills and knowledge while visiting some of the best summits and winter training areas in Scotland.

The course emphasises safe techniques for the use of ice axes and crampons, basic rope work and an awareness of weather and its effects on the winter mountain environment. It also covers equipment selection, navigation and avalanche awareness. Based at Outward Bound Scotland under the shadow of Ben Nevis, this course will give a solid foundation of skills, which will provide the confidence to explore some of the more adventurous winter mountaineering areas.
